A new Irish Pub has opened in Jamestown.
Located at 1118 E. Second St., 2 Gingers Inn opened at the beginning of May. They are open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily except for Sundays where they are open from noon to 2 a.m. Food is done being served at 1 a.m. There are also discounts for veterans and first responders.
The restaurant’s owner, Lisa Painter, said the idea for the business came from her heritage.
“My husband and I both have Irish heritage,” Painter said. “I wanted to open a business that was unique and different, something we didn’t have in the area. I’ve been bartending for over 20 years and wanted to do my own thing.”
Since opening, Painter said business has been very good. Everyone has been happy with the food, which is homemade and from scratch. 2 Gingers Inn has a full bar, serving Irish whiskey and beer, and other liquors. Painter said she wanted the restaurant to be a place where everyone could come in and enjoy themselves.
“It’s a fun atmosphere where people can be comfortable,” Painter said. “There’s good people and conversation. We serve Guinness and other Irish related whiskey and beer. It’s a fun environment, though it is 21 and older, as there is also active alcohol in some of the sauces.”
Painter said one of the main goals of the business is that, though they are small, it can be a place of comfort for all adults. Since opening, she said they have received nothing but good feedback.
“I feel wonderful about it,” Painter said. “We’ve had very good customers and feedback. It took about a year and a half to remodel everything, so everything is new. People feel more comfortable here than they might in other places. It’s all been really good.”
What Painter really hopes 2 Gingers Inn will offer to the community is a place for people to come together. As a bartender for many years, Painter said she has not always seen that at other places.
“It’s good to see the community come together from all walks of life and have a good time,” Painter said. “That’s why I wanted to open this restaurant in the first place. I’ve worked in places that have not always been like that. I want people to come in and know that all are welcome, and to have a welcoming atmosphere.”
As the business continues into the future, Painter hopes to be able to continue to serve the community and to be able to offer a community neighborhood pub. She wants to keep bringing people together on a positive level, and continue to offer a place where people can feel comfortable coming.
“I very much want my employees, staff and customers to feel like family when they come in,” Painter said. “That’s the goal.”
