Faculty soloists and ensembles will take center stage during the Faculty Music Recital on Sunday, April 27. The Student Music Recital follows on Sunday, May 4, with student musicians performing in a variety of styles, from Bach to Broadway and beyond. Both events are set for 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Sheldon Center Room 138. The annual Spring Concert, featuring the JCC concert choir and concert band, comes to Scharmann Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6. The choir is directed by Julie Costantini and the band by Chris Wakefield. The series of concerts concludes with the Spring Jam! from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Scharmann Theatre featuring JCC rock ensembles, directed by Bill Eckstrom, performing selections in a range of styles. “These concerts are a celebration of the hard work and creativity our students and faculty have poured into their music craft this semester and academic year,” said Neil Flory, associate professor of music at JCC. “We’re thrilled to share these performances with the community. It’s one of the highlights of our year.” All performances can also be watched via livestream on Zoom. Visit sunyjcc.edu/Events and navigate to the date of the concert to find the link to view.
