Golden Agers To Meet Tuesday At Lakewood Legion

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. The speaker for this program will discuss medication safety. The group will be served a pork loin dinner. The next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 20.

Kiantone Fire Department To Hold Final Fish Fry Friday

KIANTONE – The Kiantone Fire Department, 2318 Foote Ave. Ext., will hold its last dinners of the season from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Dinners will be served drive-through or pick-up only by entering the department on Peck Settlement Road. Fish dinners include either fried or broiled fish, french fries, cole slaw, roll and butter, lemon, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for $17. A chicken tender dinner, which includes french fries, roll and butter with choice of ranch or barbecue dipping sauce, is available for $14. For reservations, call 716-664-5433.

Rummage Sale To Benefit Wesley Community Church

SOUTH DAYTON – There will be a giant rummage sale at the South Dayton Fire Activity Hall, 34 Maple St., South Dayton, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 2, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3. There will be is a bag sale May 3 at noon. There is a bake sale both days. It will benefit the missions of the Wesley Community Church. For more information call Jenny at 716-410-1737.

Gallop For Growth Fundraiser Is May 3

Together We Bloom, a local non-profit based in Silver Creek, is hosting a fundraising event called Gallop for Growth: A Kentucky Derby Event from 5 to 9 p.m. May 3 at the Sheridan VFW. Tickets are $40 each and include the following: one free well drink/beer, one dinner voucher, a Gallop for Growth event cup, one betting chip, the live 2025 Kentucky Derby on a big screen, and access to numerous contests, prizes, and a basket giveaway. Over the past year, Together We Bloom has run several programs, including a postpartum mental health support group for new mothers with childcare provided, a men’s group using mindfulness through the art of fly tying for fly fishing, a children’s group blending art, yoga, and emotional awareness and a teen girls’ empowerment group fostering positive self-esteem. Together We Bloom has also awarded scholarships to mental health clinicians in Chautauqua County to become certified in perinatal mental health services.
