Fenton Canteen Plans Party Sunday
Fenton Canteen will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Fenton History Center at 67 Washington St, Jamestown. We will be partying for one of the World War II Vets who turned 100 on April 6! Veterans of all ages are welcome to join us for coffee, birthday cake and camaraderie! Service dogs are always welcome!
Hogan’s Hut History On Historical Society Agenda
ASHVILLE – The Harmony Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the North Harmony Senior Citizen Center on Stow Road, Ashville. Leah Stow will be presenting a program on the history of Hogan’s Hut General Store in Stow. The historical society will be providing a light dinner of submarine sandwiches from Hogan’s Hut along with desserts. The public is welcome to attend.
County SCOPE Chapter To Meet
MAYVILLE – The next Chautauqua County Chapter SCOPE meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. SCOPE is the Shooters Committee on Political Education. The group will discuss “Defending The Rights of New York Gun Owners” at VFW Post 8647, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. Meetings are open to the public.
Church Planning Spaghetti Dinner
ASHVILLE — Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, will be having a spaghetti dinner with desserts on Wednesday, April 16 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The dinner will cost $10 with all proceeds to benefit the church.
Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet one time during April on April 17 at the VFW in Mayville at noon. Members will have a beef on weck luncheon. The speaker will be Andrew Webster of the Westfield Recreation Department speaking on trips he can offer to club members. There also will be a board meeting after the regular meeting. All are welcome.
Kennedy Library To Host Inclusive Egg Hunt April 19
KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library is hosting its inaugural inclusive Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19. The inclusive egg hunt is a personalized egg hunt experience designed for individuals who may find traditional egg hunts challenging due to physical, cognitive or emotional needs.Registration is required. IDA Board To Gather April 22
The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the BWB Building’s second floor board room, 201 West Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend in person or view the live stream on YouTube or Zoom.
BPU Announces Easter Schedule
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, in observance of Good Friday. The Customer Service Office will reopen for business at 9 a.m. Monday, April 21. Garbage and recycling will be picked up on its regular weekly schedule with no collection changes. The recycling products for April 14-18 are cardboard and boxboard. Customers who need to pay bills on the holiday may do so online at www.jamestownbpu.com by clicking “My Account” on the home page. They may also make payments by phone at 716-661-1660, ext. 3. Customers may leave checks or money orders (no cash) after hours in drop-off boxes located in the BPU Customer Service Office parking lot down the D driveway, 92 Steele Street; outside City Hall on Tracy Plaza; and inside the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department entrance on Second Street. Customers may call 716-661-1640 after business hours to report trouble in all BPU Divisions. During business hours, utility trouble may be reported to 716-661-1660.
