Watts Flats UMC To Host Chicken Dinner March 26

WATTS FLATS – The Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Watts Flats, will be having a chicken and biscuit dinner with desserts on Wednesday, March 26, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The dinner will cost $10 with all proceeds to benefit the church.

Falconer Village Board Moves Meeting To April 7

FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board is moving its April meeting a week earlier. The board will now meet at 6 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the Falconer Public Library, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Host Bunny

Hop April 18-19

WESTFIELD – The inaugural Bunny Hop weekend in Westfield will take place Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19, throughout the village and beyond. The event starts Friday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Patterson Library with Easter activities that include stories, treats and a chance to visit with live bunnies, goats and ducks. April 19 events begin at 10 a.m. with the First Baptist Church’s annual Easter egg hunt in Moore Park, also featuring the Biblical story of Easter. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be more Easter-themed activities, live rabbits and make and take crafts at the Patterson Library The Lakeshore Center for the Arts will be part of the Bunny Hop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will show a children’s Easter movie from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be Bunny Hop Stops at participating businesses throughout Westfield, Golden Eggs hidden, kettle corn, face painting and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Hold Blended

Lifeguarding Class

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown will offer a blended lifeguarding class on Saturdays and Sundays in April and the first weekend in May. There will be no class on Easter weekend. On Saturdays, the hours will be noon to 4 p.m. and Sundays will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The price for the class will be $150. The prerequisite is a 150-yard swim of front crawl and breaststroke, leg-only treading for 2 minutes and another 50-yard swim. The second prerequisite is a 20-yard swim followed by a surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound brick and kick to return to the surface in 1 minute 40 seconds or less. After completing the prerequisites successfully students will receive a hip pack, whistle, and pocket mask. The blended course requires six hours of online pre-course work.
