Kids On The Fly To Meet Monday
SINCLAIRVILLE – Country Kids on the Fly will meet at the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, on the following Mondays at 5:30 p.m.: March 17 and 31, April 14 and 28. This is a free program for ages 8 and up to learn fly tying and fishing techniques. All tools and materials will be provided. Adults are welcome. Library patrons may also practice new skills at home by checking out the fly-tying vise and tool kit that is available at the library. Fenton History Center Hosting Concert Wednesday
The Fenton History Center is hosting the Wee Pipes of the 96th Highlanders on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The concert is free, however donations will be accepted. Refreshments will be served and space is limited. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Falconer Library Board To Gather
FALCONER – The Falconer Public Library’s next board meeting will be at 8 a.m. Thursday in the library, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.
Fentonville Community Church to Host Pancake Breakfast
FALCONER – The Fentonville Community Church will host a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Falcon’s Nest, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer. There will also be homemade baked goods for sale. Tickets are $12 each. Contact 716-560-3257 or 716-569-5677 to purchase tickets and place a reservation. Proceeds will be used for window repairs at the church.
Myers Library Board To Meet
FREWSBURG – There will be a board meeting for the Myers Memorial Library at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. The public is welcome to attend.
Watershed Conservancy To Host Fisheries Biologist
LAKEWOOD – Ahead of New York’s regular trout season opening on April 1, the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will be hosting Scott Cornett, state DEC Region 9 fisheries biologist, for an evening presentation, “Trout Talk – Restoring Streams for Thriving Populations.” The discussion will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the YWCA Lake Lodge, 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. Attendees will learn about local trout populations and the NYSDEC’s recent efforts to improve trout habitat in the region. Twan Leenders, Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy director of conservation, will also discuss the nonprofit’s stream restoration work aimed at revitalizing local waterways, and enhancing habitat and recreational opportunities in Chautauqua County. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are appreciated, but not required.
