Bemus Point School Board To Hold Special Meeting

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. to award contractor bids for the district’s capital project. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Jr/Sr. High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point.

Audubon Holding Winter Birdseed Sale Through Feb. 2

With discounts of 10%-20% on Audubon Community Nature Center’s regular prices, the Audubon Community Nature Center’s Winter Birdseed Sale is being offered through Sunday, Feb. 2, by calling 716-569-2345 during business hours or visiting AudubonCNC.org/shop. Audubon’s unique Conewango Blend was developed to attract favorite and common winter species of the region such as chickadees, cardinals, and titmice. There are also suet cakes for woodpeckers and a mix to attract finches. Nature Center members receive an additional 10% discount on birdseed purchases. Pick-up at Audubon is Saturday, Feb. 15, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Orders will be loaded into purchasers’ cars by volunteers. Those who can’t pick up orders Feb. 15 can call 716-569-2345 to make arrangements. From 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 15, the Audubon Community Nature Center will host its pancake “Breakfast with the Birds. Monday, Feb. 10, is the deadline for reservations for the breakfast by visiting AudubonCNC.org/events.

County Foster Parent

Orientation Scheduled For February

County residents who want to support families by becoming a foster parent can attend the county’s next foster parent orientation Monday, Feb. 3, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Bemus Point Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point. Registration is not required, and attendees may drop in at any time to speak with staff and learn more about fostering. Chautauqua County’s foster care program is all-inclusive, and events are free and open to the public. The next series of pre-service foster parent classes is scheduled to begin at the end of February in the Jamestown area.
