Sinclairville Library Open On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library will be open Monday when schools are closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The library will be open for regular hours from 2 to 7 p.m. and have Martin Luther King Jr. activities available for school aged children. The library’s Makerspace featuring LEGOs, marble runs and crafting will be open. Miss Jessica will also have out our LEGO STEM Box where whatever children build is theirs to keep. All activities will be available from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Parent/caregiver must stay with their child. Activities are free and open to the public. BPU Announces Martin Luther King Jr. Day Hours
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Customer Service Office will reopen for business at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Garbage and recycling will be picked up on its regular weekly schedule with no collection changes. Customers who need to pay bills on the holiday may pay online at www.jamestownbpu.com on “My Account” on the home page. Payments also may be made at 661-1660, ext. 3.Customers may leave checks or money orders (no cash) after hours in drop-off boxes located in the BPU Customer Service Office parking lot down the D driveway, 92 Steele Street; outside City Hall on Tracy Plaza; and inside the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department entrance on Second Street. For reports of trouble in all BPU Divisions after business hours, customers may call 661-1640. During business hours, utility trouble may be reported to 661-1660.
SCOPE To Meet Tuesday
The Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE) will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at VFW Post 8647, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. The public is welcome to attend.
WCA Foundation Seeking More Souper Bowl Sunday Entrants
Area restaurants will compete for the best soup in Chautauqua County at the Souper Bowl Sunday X fundraising event hosted by UPMC Chautauqua and the WCA Foundation from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Celeron American Legion. Competing for the title of the Best Soup Award: Buddy Brewsters; Chop House on Main, Celoron American Legion, Elegant Edibles, Game Time Sports and Grille, Phil and Cindy’s, Music for Your Mouth, La Cucina Della Nonna, 10-25 Café, Timberstone Restaurant at Cable Hollow, and UPMC Chautauqua. There is no entry fee for restaurants to participate. Attendees will vote for their favorite and receive a free soup bowl, while supplies last. All proceeds will benefit cancer care at UPMC Chautauqua. Tickets for attendees are $10 for adults and children, ages 5-12, are $5. To purchase visit www.wcafoundationjamestown.org.
