Audubon Little Explorers To Meet Jan. 11
The Audubon Community Nature Center’s Little Explorers meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, to learn about winter wetlands. Some animals go dormant or hibernate and some migrate, leaving for warmer climates. Others have thick fur or find other ways to keep warm while remaining active throughout the winter. Plants are also finding ways to survive or protect their seeds through frozen water and cold temperatures. After a short lesson, the group will go outside to explore the wetlands, look for evidence of animals, and see what the living things found in or near the ponds are doing in the winter. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place rain or shine, so dress for the weather.
