Save Holy Apostles Group To Meet Thursday
Any and all parishioners from Holy Apostles Parish and any parishioners from any church within the Catholic Neighbors In Faith Community who will be impacted by Bishop Michael Fisher’s decision to close churches are welcome to attend an appeal update and informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Celoron Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron.
Randolph School Board to Gather
RANDOLPH – The Randolph Central School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. in the high school library. The public is welcome to attend.
Cassadaga Valley School Board To Meet Wednesday
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. A budget workshop will be held prior to the meeting beginning at 5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Bemus Point Historical Society Speakers Continue
BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues Wednesday as Dennis Webster is welcomed to discuss the 100th anniversary of WJTN and his career spanning more than 54 years in local radio. Webster retired in August 2024, leaving behind a legacy that has shaped the county’s airwaves for decades. The event will be held at the Bemus Point Village Hall on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point beginning at 7 p.m. The adjacent Bemus Point Historical Society Museum will be open for touring beginning at 6:30 p.m.
South, Center Sewer Districts Board To Meet
CELORON – The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts administrative board will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.
Library To Hold New Program
The James Prendergast Library will hold a new monthly program titled “Novel Experiences.” Every month, a new prompt will be offered to invite patrons to create art or explore new reading ideas. Art can be turned in during the month and will be on display during the month following the prompt or patrons will be invited to share their reading experience during our “No Pressure Book Club” on the third Friday of every month. Lakewood Library Exhibits Work Of Deb Penley
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library is hosting an exhibition by local artist, Deb Penley titled “Of Wool and Whimsy” for the month of January. Her fiber works will be on display with an opening reception scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at the library. Penley is a multimedia artist with a recent concentration in fiber art. Her work ranges from the realistic and lifelike to the abstract and whimsical.
