Pine Valley To Host Blood

Drive Jan. 10

SOUTH DAYTON — The sophomore class at Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School, 7827 Route 83, is hosting a blood drive Friday, Jan. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gym. The community is encouraged to donate. All donors will receive a “Fear Less” donor T-shirt while supplies last. Email Kara Johnson at kajohnson@pval.org to schedule an appointment.

FREWSBURG – A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Jan. 13, from 5 to 10:00 p.m. The cost is $30. Pre-register by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org – include a picture of the student’s permit, or by calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, be sure to have the student’s learner’s permit available.

Mayville Senior Citizens To

Meet Jan. 16

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Jan. 16 at the Mayville VFW. The group will have the ham dinner that was cancelled in December. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. Members will also install 2025 officers. Entertainment will be performed by John Savage. All are welcome.

Gerry Seniors Hold Christmas Dinner

FALCONER – The Rodeo Senior Citizens of Gerry met at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer for a Christmas dinner and music. The dinner was catered by the 3C’s Catering. Ed and Ellen Yager, vice presidents, welcomed all to the gathering and gave the blessing prior to the meal. Following the meal, music was provided by Sandy Pratt on the electronic keyboard. Some of the many Christmas songs were sung by all. Ellen Yager provided the song books. Included in the singing were The First Noel, Joy to the World, O Little Town of Bethlehem, and Silent Night, Holy Night. Appreciation to Mrs. Pratt for her music. Yager conducted a brief business meeting. The Pledge to the Flag was led by Stockton Historian John Sipos. Secretary Peg Harrison read the minutes of the previous meeting, and treasurer Bonnie Larkin gave the financial report of the group. Opal Sprague reminisced about some of the previous meetings. The group is now taking a winter break, and will be meeting again in April 2025. At that time members will elect new officers. The Rodeo Senior Citizens meet at the Gerry Methodist Church from April through December for a tureen luncheon. New members are welcome.
