Library System Board To Meet Wednesday
RANDOLPH – The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System Board will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Randolph Library, 26 Jamestown St., Randolph. The public is welcome to attend.
First Lutheran To Host Advent Service
First Lutheran Church will have its second midweek Advent Service in Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at noon. The Rev. Ivy Gauvin, pastor of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Bemus Point, will be the guest preacher. The Rev. Mark E. Swanson will be the liturgist with Brian A. Bogey at the organ. The congregation is welcome to bring a bag lunch that will follow in the church parlors. Coffee, tea, water, and desserts will be provided by the church. The public is welcome to attend.
Frewsburg School Board To Meet Thursday
FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the middle-high school library. The public is welcome to attend.
Red Cross To Host Blood Drive Dec. 13 In Cassadaga
CASSADAGA – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Cassadaga Fire Hall, 22 Mill St., Cassadaga. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Audubon Little Explorers Learn About Nocturnal Animals Dec. 14
On Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the Audubon Community Nature Center will host its Little Explorers program for children ages 3-8 and their adults. The Dec. 14 session focuses on nocturnal animals. Discover more about who might be making that noise and how these creatures such as bats, owls, foxes, and flying squirrels move around and find food in the dark. After a short lesson, head outside to explore some places where they might spend the day at Audubon and look for evidence of nocturnal animals along the trails. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place rain or shine, so dress for the weather.
