Sewer District Board To Meet Thursday
CELORON – The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts administrative board will meet at noon Thursday in the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.
Busti To Host Christmas Tree Lighting Friday
BUSTI – The town of Busti will host its annual Christmas tree lighting at 7 p.m. Friday at the triangle in the five corners of Busti. Santa Claus will make an appearance. Refreshments will be provided following at the Busti Fire Hall.
Chautauqua Fire Dept. Auxiliary To Host Christmas Bazaar
CHAUTAUQUA – The Chautauqua Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fire hall on Massey Avenue on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. Entrance to the Chautauqua grounds and parking are both free. The annual bazaar includes donated household goods, games, decorative items, crafts, clothes, books, treasures and unique finds. There will be fire blankets available for purchase. There will also be a basket raffle that includes Buffalo Bills items and baskets for pet lovers, those who enjoy Italian food, cooks and arts and crafters. All proceeds benefit the Chautauqua Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, which supports the fire department with equipment purchases, supplies and other necessary items.

In Cassadaga
CASSADAGA – The Mary E. Seymour Library’s Cassadaga Branch will host its Light Up The Library event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday with crafts, refreshments and a chance to meet Santa’s elf. A drawing for the Booked Solid lap quilt is at 3 p.m.
Fenton History Center’s Holiday Open House Is Saturday
The community is invited to the Fenton History Center’s holiday open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit, “Christmas on the Homefront” will be open for visitors to see while the open house will also include a visit with Santa, live music, carol singing, refreshments and the Gov. Reuben E. Fenton Mansion decorated for the upcoming holiday season. The open house is free. Admission prior to the Open House during regular hours is $10 for adults, children under 18 are free. Running concurrently is the “On the Homefront” exhibit that tells the story of life in Jamestown during the long four years of World War II. The holiday exhibit adds 1940s era toys, music and artifacts along with many decorated trees. The holiday exhibit will also feature Kwanzaa, Los Posadas, Hanukah and Swedish and Italian traditions of the holiday.
