Jamestown School Board To Meet Tonight

The Jamestown City School District Board of Education will meet today at 6 p.m. in the board room of the Administration Building, 197 Martin Road. The JHS A Cappella Madrigal Choir will be performing prior to the meeting.The public is welcome to attend.

Reservations For Ross Grange Christmas Party Due Today

FALCONER – The Ross Grange will meet at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall on Monday. Village Historian Brenda Cavalaro will share stories of past Christmasses in the area. A catered lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Reservations should be made with Opal Sprague by today. Those attending are asked to bring cereal for the Kennedy Food Cupboard.

County Parks Commission To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will meet Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Jamestown Airport conference room. The public is welcome to attend.

Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet Thursday at noon at the VFW in Mayville. The group will have a ham dinner; elect 2025 officers; and listen to music and singing by John Savage. Should Chautauqua Lake Central School be closed, the meeting is cancelled. Those attending are asked to bring a a dish to pass and table service. Everyone is welcome.

Library To Host Quarterly Book Sale Starting Thursday

The James Prendergast Library will host its quarterly half-off book sale Thursday through Saturday. Books are $1 for hardcover, 50 cents for paperbacks and 50 cents for children’s books. A $10 bag sale will be held Thursday and Friday while a $5 bag sale takes place Saturday. The library will also host a special winter book sale from Dec. 9-14 in the front lobby. Hard cover books are $3, paperbacks and children’s books are $2.

Annual George Barone Holiday Fair Is Saturday

LAKEWOOD – The fourth annual George L Barone Jr. Holiday Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the YWCA Lake Lodge, 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. The event is open to the public at no cost. Every child will receive a free wrapped Christmas present. The fair also includes crafts, holiday snacks and hot cocoa as well as local vendors.
