Prendergast Library To Meet Thursday
The James Prendergast Library’s next Board of Trustees meeting will be held at the library on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public.
County Health Board To Gather
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21,in the Hall R. Clothier Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. The public can watch the meeting at on the county Health Department’s YouTube channel. Audubon to Host ‘Fall Foray’
The Audubon Community Nature Center will host a “Fall Foray” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. An Audubon nature educator will lead the group to discover how different plants and animals prepare themselves for the oncoming winter and how a quiet-looking fall landscape is teeming with life and activity. This program takes place outdoors, so those attending should dress for the weather. Sturdy sneakers or boots are recommended for walking over uneven trail surfaces. The fee is $8 or $6 for Nature Center members and children ages 9 to 15. Reservations are appreciated by calling 716-569-2345 or online through Programs and Events at AudubonCNC.org. Jamestown DAR Chapter To Host Fundraiser
The Jamestown Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be holding a fundraiser for the historic Partridge-Sheldon House on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. The DAR will be providing tours of the home decorated for the holidays for a suggested donation of $5 a person. Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet Dec. 5 Members will have a ham dinner prepared by Darlene Harper. John Savage will be playing his guitar and singing a variety of Christmas songs.
Museum To Host Just Desserts Open House
WESTFIELD – The McClurg Museum in Westfield will hold its annual Just Desserts open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.The event, sponsored by the Chautauqua County Historical Society, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Guests are welcome to explore the museum’s rooms and collections during the event. Self-guided tours, which include an audio option, are available. Curated and antique ornaments are featured in the holiday decorations. The museum has installed a new exhibit on Chautauqua Lake’s history, spotlighting prominent hotels during the steamboat era.
