Carroll Historical Society To
Host Speaker Saturday
FREWSBURG – The Carroll Historical Society will host the third pre-bicentennial talk on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Carroll Historical Society building behind the Carroll Town Hall. Randy Cannon of Chautauqua Abstract will speak at 2 p.m. about the process of purchasing land in the early 1800s in general and will also focus on the deeds of founding families in Carroll. The society is featuring 10 maps from the early Holland Land sales through 1999.
Panama School Board To Meet Monday
PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.
Bemus Point School Board
To Meet Monday
BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will meet Monday in the cafeteria located at Maple Grove Jr/Sr. High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The meeting begins at 5 p.m., with the board expected to call for an executive session to discuss negotiations and possible litigation. The regular board meeting is expected to begin at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Poetry, Prose Workshop Is Monday At
Sinclairville Library
SINCLAIRVILLE – John Brantingham will host a generative poetry and prose workshop at the Sinclairville Free Library at 5 p.m. Monday with mood music provided by guitarist Rico Garfalo followed by an open mic reading at 6 p.m. In the generative workshop, those attending will produce at least one piece of poetry or fiction. Later, there will be a reading of work from the workshop or anything else those attending want to read. Those interested can attend either session or both sessions.
Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers
To Meet Tuesday
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion Building for the group’s annual harvest dinner. Reservations have already been made. Those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food items and gifts for young children. The legion will use the items to help families in the area.
County SCOPE Chapter To
Meet Tuesday
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE) will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at VFW Post 8647, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. The discussion will focus on the topic “Defending The Rights Of New York Gun Owners.” The public is welcome to attend.
