St. Luke’s To Host Election Day Prayer Services

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is organizing opportunities to gather for prayer on Election Day. St. Luke’s will host three prayer services throughout on November 5th, for Morning Prayer, Eucharist, and Evening Prayer. Morning prayer service at 8:30 a.m. in the church, with prayers for peace, liberty and justice for all. A Noonday Eucharist Service will be held at 12:05 p.m. in the chapel; where participants will share in the communion meal, symbolizing the sacred nature of our common life. An evening prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. in the church, designed to close the day of prayer with petitions for discernment, strength, and unity in the days to come. In addition to the scheduled services, St. Luke’s will remain open throughout the day as a quiet space for prayer and meditation. Harmony Senior citizens To Meet Nov. 7

PANAMA – The Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 7, for a Thanksgiving dinner at the Panama Methodist Church. Reservations are required. Members Ellen Coffaro, Sally Hagg and Wendie Raynor volunteered to bring pies. After discussion, it was decided to hand each member who paid for the dinner a ticket when they sign in. The ticket should be given to the individual who served them their dinner. Music will be provided.by Virgil Rothra. Gail Keller volunteered to bring the birthday cake for November. Hosts for November are June Whipple, Dottie Enlow and Sally Hagg.

Randolph Historical Society To Gather Thursday

RANDOLPH – The Randolph Historical Society monthly meeting, open to the public, will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Randolph Municipal Building. The guest speaker will be Michael Bohall, son of John and Annette Bohall, who recently graduated from Randolph High School. Bohall traveled alone to Bangkok, Thailand, and spent an entire month on a short-term mission trip with Converge Ministries. The focus of his ministry was teaching the English language to the Thai students and sharing the Gospel message. All are welcome to attend; refreshments will be provided.

Sewer District Board To Meet Thursday

CELORON – The Administrative Board of the South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at noon Thursday at the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.

Fenton Canteen To Be held Saturday

The Fenton Canteen, open to veterans of all ages, will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fenton Mansion 67 Washington St., Jamestown. Canteen veterans are invited to witness a unique World War II medals ceremony that will take place at 11 a.m.
