Outdoor Club
To Hike Sunday
The Allegheny Outdoor Club will host a moderate shuttle hike of 4.5 miles in the Lander area. The group will meet no later than 1 p.m. at the Lander Fire Hall on Route 957. There is a stream crossing so those attending should wear appropriate footwear. Bring a plastic grocery bag to sit on, water, snacks and tick spray. No dogs are allowed because the hike will cross private property. Pat Spicer will be the leader.
Kiwanis Club Slates Election Night Dinner
The Jamestown Kiwanis Club will be holding its Election Night spaghetti dinner at the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Meals are available for dine-in or take-out. For the price of $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under, the dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. See any Kiwanis member or call 450-6874 to reserve tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Kiantone Fire Dept. Auxiliary To Host Election Night Dinner
KIANTONE – The Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its annual Election Day dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday featuring Swiss steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, roll, vegetable, salad and dessert for $15. The dinner is drive-through only. Orders can be placed through the Kiantone Fire Department’s Facebook page or by calling 716-664-5433.
Chautauqua Center Receives $600K In Federal Funding
The Chautauqua Center has received a $600,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to expand behavioral health services in the region. “The Chautauqua Center plays a critical role in ensuring that the Southern Tier has access to affordable quality care,” said Congressman Nick Langworthy. “This grant will strengthen their ability to provide vital mental health services, supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges. I am proud to support their mission and this significant investment in the well-being of our community.” According to HHS, the Behavioral Health Service Expansion program aims to improve access to mental health care by funding treatment services at Community Health Centers in underserved areas. The grant enables health centers to increase their staff, broaden their service offerings, and enhance care for individuals struggling with mental health issues, including substance abuse disorders.
Allen Cemetery Cleanup Is
