Child’s Play Group Meets Wednesdays At Gerry

Methodist Church

GERRY – Child’s Play, the Sinclairville Free Library’s Early Literacy Program, has begun sessions at the Gerry Methodist Church, 4441 Route 60, Wednesdays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Children ages two to preschool and their caregivers are invited to join Library Assistant Jessica Huling for stories, social play, crafts and songs. Siblings are welcome to attend. Child’s Play is also held at the library on 15 Main St., Sinclairville, on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration is required for these sessions by visiting www.sinclairvillelibrary.org, emailing info@sinclairvillelibrary.org or calling 716-962-5885.

Jamestown School Board To Meet Tonight

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today in the board room of the administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

To Hold Blood

Drive Oct. 31 At

Chautauqua Mall

LAKEWOOD – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 Oct. 31 at the Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Kennedy Library To Host Haunted Library Event

KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library will host a haunted library on Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Families will be directed to enter the library through the back entrance. For questions call 716-267-4265.

Club Accepting Flag Football

Registration

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club is accepting applications for flag football. Players in kindergarten through second grades play Tuesdays from Nov. 5 through Nov. 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. while players in third through fifth grades play Wednesdays, Nov. 6 through Dec. 4, with no game Nov. 27, from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. The fee for the four-week program, which includes a t-shirt, is $30. A yearly club membership is also required which is $25. Some scholarships are available for both, if needed. Call the club at 716-664-2902 to register.

Sinclairville Library To Host Nature Program Starting Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library invites children ages 10 and up to a new “Neighborhood Nature” program from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, and 23. Cassadaga Valley Science Teacher Corinne Kelly will be the nature guide for this fun hands-on program that takes place in the library and encourages children to explore and connect with the plants, animals, and ecosystems right in their own backyards. Participants will earn badges to become a certified “Nature Neighbor.” The library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, to observe Veteran’s Day and Nov. 28-30 for Thanksgiving.
