Celoron Village Board To Hold Special Meeting Oct. 28

CELORON – The Celoron Village Board will hold a special meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the Celoron Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to discuss and take possible action on a CDBG grant agreement. The public is welcome to attend.

Blood Drive Set For Oct. 29 At CLCS

MAYVILLE – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at Chautauqua Lake Central School, 100 N. Erie St., Mayville. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Prendergast Library To Host Story Time, Costume Parade Oct. 31

The James Prendergast Library will host a Halloween story time and costume parade from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, for all ages. There will be special costume-themed story time and activities. Registration is recommended for the free program at the library’s Children’s Desk or calling 716-484-7135, ext. 234.

Panama Sets Trick-Or-Treating Hours

PANAMA – The Village of Panama will hold Halloween trick-or-treating from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

Masonic Lodge To Serve Veterans Breakfast Nov. 9

FREWSBURG – The Jamestown Consistory of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction will team with American Legion Samuel L Derby Post 556 to host a Veterans Recognition Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at Post 556, 9 Meadows Lane, Frewsburg. Veterans from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties and their guests will be served a free breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, sausage and bacon, tropical fruit, toast, coffee, teas, and juice. Those attending do not need to be a member of the Scottish Rite to be served breakfast. Non-veteran Scottish Rite members, Masons, and guests will be served breakfast for $10 each. A speaker will be presenting a talk at the breakfast. This year the keynote speaker is Mel Feather, who will do a talk on “My Time in Vietnam.” Reservations are requested by Nov. 2 by calling Lance Parker at 716-672-9756 or emailing lc-parker@haotmail.com.
