Audubon Little Explorers On Sept. 14 Focuses On Seeds
On Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the Audubon Community Nature Center Little Explorers will learn about seeds and the plants they come from. A lot of spring greenery depends on autumn seeds. Some seeds are found floating on the wind, others stick to animal fur and your clothes, and some are collected by animals for food. After a short indoor lesson, head outside on a guided exploration through Audubon’s forests and wetlands to see how many types of seeds the group can collect and find. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place rain or shine, so dress for the weather. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3-8 and Nature Center members. Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total. Reservations are requested by Thursday, Sept. 12, by calling 569-2345 during business hours or visiting AudubonCNC.org and clicking through Programs and Events.
