Thrift Shop

Open Saturday

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between E. Fourth and East Fifth Streets, Jamestown, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The shop is overstocked with summer clothing for men, women and children – all at least half price. Ladies pants, shorts, capris and skirts are $1. All proceeds are used for outreach in the local community.

First Lutheran Church Resumes Regular Worship Service Sunday

On Sunday, First Lutheran Church will resume its regular worship schedule for the year. The Contemporary Worship will be at 9 a.m. in the Worship Center led by Kim King and the Sacred Fire Praise Team. The traditional worship service will be in the newly renovated church nave at 11 a.m. Both services will include Holy Communion and the sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Mark E. Swanson, pastor of the church. The First Lutheran Choir will sing “Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven” by Mark Andrews for the offertory. Peter Larson will be the liturgist, Fran Guichard will be lector, and Marika Koch will be the hymn cantor. Brian A. Bogey, Organist/Choirmaster will play “Sonata No. 1” by Johann Naumann for the prelude and “I Sing the Mighty Power of God” by Douglas Wagner for the organ postlude. A coffee hour will take place between the two services down in the church parlors. The public is welcome to attend.

Village Board

Of Trustees To Meet Monday

LAKEWOOD – A regular Board of Trustees Meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the boardroom of the Anthony C Caprino Municipal Building, 20 W Summit St., Lakewood. The board will immediately move into an executive session to discuss a short-term rental legal matter. A work session and regular meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m.. The public is welcome to attend. Bemus Point School Board

To Meet Monday

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will conduct its next regular meeting Monday in the cafeteria at Bemus Point Elementary School, 41 Liberty St., Bemus Point. The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. followed by an expected executive session to discuss negotiations.

Hazeltine Library Continues Author Series Monday

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library author series continues Monday 9 with Deb Madar. Madar is the author of the Merrill Conner Mystery Series set in and around the Westfield area. Her debut in this series A Deeper Dive has been followed by Boulder Point. Madar will talk about the series, her writing style and the effort it takes to create a novel. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the community building behind the library at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. The event is free and open to everyone.
