Trillium Lodge To Host One-Day Pine Valley Art Exhibition
CHERRY CREEK – The annual Advanced Placement Art Exhibition for Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the Trillium Lodge, 6830 Main St., Cherry Creek. The public is welcome to attend. Featured artists and AP 2D Art & Design students Arryanna Bardo, Jimmy Gleason, Jack Sheldon, Tyler Smith and Muriel Zollinger will have two or three pieces on display that they have been working on all year. They will also have a personalized binder that has all the other pieces they made with descriptions about their portfolio that the public can read. The students will be there for the duration of the exhibit to explain their work and answer any questions.
Watershed Conservancy To Host Guided Birding Walk
CASSADAGA – The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will be holding a guided birding walk on Friday, May 31, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at its Cassadaga Lakes Nature Park. The 77-acre nature park is one of the most bird-diverse locations in Chautauqua County, with 175 different bird species identified there so far. As a result, the park was recently added by the state Department of Environmental Conservation as a destination on its state Birding Trail. Conservancy Director of Conservation, Twan Leenders, will lead the tour and assist with bird identification as well as discuss the importance of water quality and protected lands to both year-round and migrating birds. The entrance to the park is located on Route 60 in Cassadaga between Tim Horton’s and Camp Gross. Space is limited for the walk. Reservations are requested by calling 716-664-2166, ext. 1001 or emailing info@chautauquawatershed.org. Include a contact name, number of attendees, and a phone number or email. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and cameras and dress appropriately for typical wet conditions of a wooded wetland.
Garage/Yard Sales To Be Held In Lakewood
The Village of Lakewood will hold the annual garage/yard sales on Friday and Saturday.
Falconer Rotary Sponsoring Village Yard Sales
FALCONER – The Falconer Rotary Club is once again sponsoring the annual village-wide yard sales to be held May 31 and June 1. Residents can register their location at the Falconer Vac Shop at 15 W. Main St. no later than May 28. The $5 registration fee includes a yard sign and the location of each registrants’ sale location on a free map. The maps will be available on May 31 at the Village Clerk’s office (May 31 only) and at the Falconer Vac Shop, PersNikkity’s Pies, and 17-19 West Main Mercantile either day.
Allegheny Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday
On Sunday, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes or hike from Marienville toward Leeper. The group will meet at the train station in Marienville at 2 p.m. Earl Ross will be the leader and can be reached at 814-726-3920 for any questions.
