Professionals To Meet Today

The Jamestown Young Professionals will hold a Happy Hour networking mixer today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Moon Brook Country Club.The event is free and open to the public. A cash bar will be available during the event. Kirstie Lind Hanson, head of the group’s Planning Committee, will speak briefly and provide details about the organization’s planned events for the remainder of the year. The Featured Business Spotlight at this event will be Art Cloth & Craft. The Jamestown Young Professionals group is open to everyone. The group welcomes everyone of all ages interested in both networking as well as leveraging personal and professional connections for the betterment of Chautauqua County.

Dancing With Victoria Performing Arts Centre presents “Let’s Dance through the Calendar” Saturday with two shows starting at noon with Showcase 1 and at 5:30 p.m. with Showcase 2. Showcase 2 is sold out. Both showcases are at Southwestern Central High School. Admission is $10 at the door.

Revolution To Meet Saturday

STOCKTON – The Chautauqua chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Stockton Hotel. All meals are ordered from the menu. Members of the SAR and guests are invited.

Bemus Point School Board To Meet Monday

The Bemus Point School Board will conduct its next regular meeting on Monday in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Jr/Sr High School, Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The board is expected to open the session with a possible executive session at 5:15 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Falconer Village Board To Meet

FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board will be holding its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in the Fire Exempts Hall, 3 Coleson Drive. The public is welcome to attend.

American Legion Post 556 Elects Officers, Sets Poppy Days

FREWSBURG – The Samuel L. Derby American Legion Auxiliary Unit 556 of Frewsburg recently held its monthly meeting. Poppy Days will be held on May 16-18 at the Kwik Fill and Tops in Frewsburg. A sign-up for time slots will soon be available for anyone interested. Poppy cans will also be placed at various business locations. A summer/July 4 cooler giveaway will be prepared to raffle off on June 29. Membership is currently at 249 members, or 90% of the goal of 275. The second reading of the slate of officers for 2024-2025 was read: president – Verna Angelo, first vice president – Tammy Spontarelli, second vice president – Jen Jackson, secretary – Gwen Funcell, treasurer – Debby Walsh. The next county meeting will be held at the Cassadaga Legion on May 9. Unit 556 will next meet on May 21. All members are encouraged to attend. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Frewsburg Legion.
