Fire Dept. To Hold Commissioners Election

The Coldspring Fire District will hold its annual commissioners election today at the Coldspring’s Fire Hall located at 2063 Rte 394 in Coldspring. Voting will take place from 4-6 p.m. Any registered voter in the town of Coldspring may vote.

JCC Committees To Meet Today

The SUNY Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will hold committee meetings on Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the boardrooms of the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses and the North County Center. CVCS Board To Meet Wednesday, Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. The school board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. The board will go into an executive session to discuss matters relating to the employment histories of a particular person or persons and matters related to the hiring of a new superintendent of schools.

Frewsburg School Board To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact the district clerk by 3 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling 716-569-7041 or emailing lsmith@frewsburgcsd.org.

Breakfast Club To Gather Friday

DUNKIRK – The New York State Department of Transportation Breakfast Club will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Demetr’s in Dunkirk. All retirees are welcome to attend.

County Finance Department To Close For One Hour Friday

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Department of Finance located in the Gerace Office Building in Mayville will be closed from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. The office includes the Treasury, Real Property Tax, Purchasing, Budget, Insurance, and Payroll divisions. Any member of the public wishing to make transactions related to taxes, sewer payments, bail bonds, public administration of estates, or certificates of residency are asked to visit the office before noon or after 1 p.m.

Quilt Guild Members working On Community Service Projects

Members of the Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will not meet in December but are working on various community sewing projects. There are a number of agencies requesting quilts this year including Habitat for Humanity, UCan, the UPMC Cancer Center and maternity ward, as well as for welcome gifts through New Neighbors asylum and refugee families, Blue Star Mothers, and senior citizen homes. The guild is establishing a local Quilts of Valor group, Chautauqua Region Quilts of Valor. Quilters Haven in Lakewood is the sponsoring quilt shop and drop off location for the quilts.
