GOBike Buffalo To Present

Community Workshop On Thursday

GOBike Buffalo will present a Complete Streets community workshop from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the James Prendergast Library. Part of the workshop will include a walking tour and recommendations for pedestrian and bicycle safety. There will also be discussio of a grant-funded project for pedestrian infrastructure between the library and Dow Park. Mobile Pantry Truck Will Be At Ashville United Methodist Church On Tuesday

ASHVILLE — The Feed More of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Falconer will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, only proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Face masks are optional. The pantry has extra masks if you want one. The food is pre-boxed like last month. A volunteer at the desk will sign recipients in and another one will take the food to recipients’ cars. For more information, call Martha at 716-763-9252.

Library Event To Take Place On Saturday

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna Free Library presents: Love Letters of a Union Soldier on Saturday, July 29, at 12:30 p.m. The letters of Edgar Shannon, who enlisted with the 154th New York volunteers, will be presented as read through the eyes of his beloved, Frant, portrayed by Tina Scherman of the Leon Historical Society The program is free and open to the public. Donations arecheerfully accepted. The Fluvanna Free Library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. To Host Family Picnic

The Jamestown Vikings Lodge will host its family picnic Sunday, July 30, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Viking Lake Park. There will be food, games and prizes for all ages. All Vikings and their families are welcome.

Holding 17th Annual Pig

Roast Sept. 17

FREWSBURG — The Relief Zone fundraising committee is holding its 17th annual pig roast Sunday Sept. 17, at The Relief Zone, 5 Frew Run St., Frewsburg. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until gone. Buy tickets at the door for $10 for a pulled pork meal and $8 for a hot dog meal. There will also be family packs of four for $35 and eight for $70.  Dinners include corn on the cob, baked beans, applesauce, chips, fresh pie or cookies, and beverage. There will also be take-out orders and outdoor seating available as well as a basket giveaway.
