Legion To Host Car Show

Thursday

The Herman Kent Post Legion, 26 Jackson Ave., is having a car show from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Each entrant will receive a free hot dog. There will be door prizes and a snack menu will be available for purchase.

Several Rides

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hold several rides in the coming weeks. On Thursday, the group will host a bike ride on the Bayfront Connector trail in Erie is planned. Everyone is to meet at the Get Go gas station on Route 430 at Exit 32 off I-90 at 10 a.m. Pat Spicer is leading the ride and can be reached in the evening at 814-757-8831. On Thursday, Sept. 8, a bike ride is planned from Grand Island to Niagara Falls. Those attending can meet at the Park and Ride north of Jamestown on Route 60 at 10:30 a.m. Denny Anderson is leading the ride and can be reached at 716-969-9772 for any questions. On Sunday, Sept. 11, the group will ride the Kinzua Valley Trail in Westline, Pa. Meet at Musante Street by 1 p.m. or the trailhead in Westline by 2 p.m. Pat Spicer is leading this ride and can be reached at 814-757-8831 for any questions.

Chautauqua County Planning Board to Meet

Senior Center Trips Announced

DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk Senior Center has announced a trip to the Seneca Allegany Casino for a Sweet Caroline Tribute to Neil Diamond. The event is Tuesday, Oct. 11. Trip includes ticket to show, $20 free slot play and $10 food voucher. The Dunkirk Senior Center also announced an “Exploring East Aurora” event on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The trip includes shopping at Vidler’s Five and Dime, Lunch at the Iron Kettle Landmark Restaurant. After lunch there will be a stop at Mayer Bros. Cider Mill and then on to the new ‘Niagara County Produce.’

Historical Society To Hear From Authors

SINCLAIRVILLE–The Valley Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the museum in Sinclairville. Final plans will be made for the History Fair. The speakers will be Dr. Bob and Anne Deming of Bear Lake. They are the authors of the books “A History of Bear Lake” and “Camp in the Woods on Bear Lake.”Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.
