Summer Items Available At
Thrift Shop
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, is well-stocked with summer items for all. Ladies pants, jeans and skirts are 50 cents. Men’s pants and shirts are 50% off, and there is a new rack of men’s clothing for $1 or less. Infant clothing is 50% off. There are many new items in the housewares department. The shop is open for sales Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds are used to benefit our local community.

Public Schools BOE To Meet
On Tuesday
The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education wil meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for its reorganizational meeting in the Administration Building at 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
Chaut. County Society Of Artists To Meet Tuesday
ASHVILLE — The Chautauqua County Society of Artists will meet at the Ashville Public Library at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Those attending should bring a shirt with a neckline that doesn’t have to stretch much to get over one’s head. The group will be beading the neckline to dress it up. It can have a pattern or a solid color. Anne Jackson of The Beaded Forest will help the group. At the society’s last meeting, members finished the dog shape door stops led by Terri Matthewson. BPU Notes Revised Hours Wednesday
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities customer service office announces revised hours for Wednesday due to training. The office will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will reopen from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday. Customers are reminded that payments may be made online at jamestownbpu.com, by telephone at 716-661-1660 ext. 3 and by check or money order through BPU drop boxes located in the customer service parking lot, in the Jamestown Police Department vestibule and on Tracy Plaza.
Ripley School Board Meets Wednesday
RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board will hold a reorganizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 129 at Ripley Central School. A regular meeting will be held afterward. The public is welcome to attend.
Planning To Hold Town Picnic
Aug. 5-7
ELLINGTON — The Ellington Town Picnic Association is making plans for the 109th annual town picnic to be held Aug. 5-7 at the town park. Events include a variety of music, contests, Ellington Fire Department chicken barbecue, parade, tractor pull and Sunday church service. The parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. with line up at 5 p.m. Classic cars, horses, floats and fire equipment are welcome.
