Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday
Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak Sunday near the Redbridge/Kinzua Creek area weather permitting. The activity was postponed from last Sunday. The group will meet at Musante Street by 1:30 p.m. or Bob’s Trading Post at 2:15 p.m. and will put in at the boat launch near Red Bridge. Members are asked to bring their personal flotation devices. Library Board Of Trustees To Meet On Tuesday
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Members of the public are welcome to attend; the meeting link is available on the library website, www.lakewoodlibrary.org.
Blood Drive Set For June 23
The COVID-19 pandemic has prolonged a blood shortage locally as well as across the country. Summer months are impacted by a 25% reduction in donations that are provided by local high school and college blood drives. Instead, organizations rely on donors attending community drives. Community Blood Bank is hosting a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 23, at UPMC Chautauqua. To schedule an appointment, call 814-456-4206. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait time but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows.
Church To Host Rummage Sale
Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Everything will be a donation unless it’s marked.
Historical Society To Meet In Stow
STOW — The Harmony Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the North Harmony Senior Citizens building, 5377 Stow Ferry Road, Stow. Light refreshments will be available. The program will include a discussion on gravestones, which can be an invaluable source of information for historians and genealogists. County Historian Michelle Henry will discuss a variety of different sources that can be helpful to verify the information carved on gravestones in local cemeteries.
County IDA Meets June 28
The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the BWB Building, second floor board room, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown; the Fredonia Technology Incubator, second floor conference room, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk; and electronically via YouTube and Zoom. The county IDA Governance Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the same locations. The Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors will meet following the IDA meeting.
