Dr. And Mrs. Randy Elf

Hilary Anne Kurtz and Dr. Randolph Scott Elf were united in marriage Dec. 28, 2019, in First Lutheran Church in Jamestown. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, pastor, and the Rev. Paul R. Messner, former vicar of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown, performed the 3 p.m. ceremony.

The reception was at Moon Brook Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of the late Deborah Ann Austin Kurtz and Joseph Cornelius Kurtz IV. Her husband is the son of Margaret Chrystal Elf of West Ellicott and the late Dr. Frederick M. Elf.

The bridesmaids were Carolyn Chrystal Elf Wood, groom’s sister, and Lee Caroline Elf Taylor, groom’s cousin. The honorary bridesmaid was JoAnn Ihlefeld Scovil, groom’s cousin. The honorary matron of honor was Lisa Anne Kurtz McAndrews, bride’s sister, and Molly Burke Harrigan.

The best man was Mrs. Elf, groom’s mother, and Collin Frederick Wood, groom’s nephew. The groomsmen were Bryon Frederick Elf, groom’s cousin; Dr. Michael David Bates; Thomas Joseph Whitney; Austin Jamison Kurtz, bride’s brother, and Michael Sean Fitzpatrick.

Tributes at the wedding were given by Elizabeth McIntyre Engelke and Dr. Christopher John Allabashi.

The master of ceremonies was Jack William Boyd.

Music was provided by Brian A. Bogey, organist, and the Good News Handbell Ensemble.

The bride is an alumna of Marymount High School, Trinity College, and American University. The groom is an alumnus of Southwestern Central School, Duke University, and Syracuse University. Both are self-employed.
