If You Can, Name That Show

There are certain television shows from our past (and some in the present through syndication) that were/are identifiable by a tag line, or a line used over and over in individual episodes, or a part of their theme song, or a specific line from a particular episode. With this in mind, thought we’d offer a little writing exercise asking you to try to identify some of those shows by the line provided by the Voice from the Bullpen.

Yes, this is the next VFTB quiz to try and tickle your memory this morning. Hopefully you are sitting on your deck this morning, or are by the pool having a Jim Roselle “Cup of Happiness,” and need something to jump start your thought process for the day. Maybe this little exercise will accomplish that goal.

So grab your pencils and paper and see if you can name these shows by the given taglines, script lines, or theme sound bites.

1.) “This tape will self-destruct in five seconds.”

2.) “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.”

3.) “Come and listen to my story about a man named Jed. . . .”

48.) “Man, Woman, Birth, Death, Infinity”

49.) “Faster than a Speeding Bullet. . . .”

50.) “Who’s the Leader of the Club, that’s made for you and me?”

Should have been a breeze, but just in case I’ll throw in this 5 point Bonus question:

In question No. 46, who played the lead character?

Well, there you have it, another trivial information test of memory. I’ll bet many of you were saying the lines out loud as you took this quiz. I’ll wager many of you sang the partial lyrics as you came to those particular questions, anything to help you remember and come up with the answer. No problem though…as long as it helped you get a good grade.

Here are the answers, if you need them, to self-correct. No cheating. Two points for each correct response. Hope you did well.

Bonus: Danny Thomas

And now you can total up those scores, and see how you did. If you scored 100 or better, take yourself out for an ice cream cone later today. Then have a great day and a great week.
