Helping By The Numbers
FREWSBURG – Nestled between two buildings across from Kwik Fill on Main Street in Frewsburg, Lee’s Bookkeeping Service serves local businesses and private individuals with their bookkeeping needs.
For Rhonda Haick, owner of LBS, accounting and bookkeeping were love at first sight. Never knowing about her love of numbers, one day she answered an ad from H&R Block and she fell in love with the profession. From there she went to Jamestown Business College and received a degree in accounting.
“(I enjoy the) paperwork,” Haick said with a chuckle. “Oh, just the paperwork, the numbers and mostly helping (people). That’s what I really like the most.”
Haick worked at H&R Block as a tax preparer until one day in 1997 H&R Block called her to also take on a bookkeeping position. When H&R Block dropped the bookkeeping service in 2005, Haick left H&R Block starting her own business from her home, continuing where H&R Block left off. She still maintains clients that she started 17 years ago in 1997. In the summer she rented the building and officially opened the location this month.
LBS offers bookkeeping services such as income and expense tracking, accounts payables and receivables, bank reconciliations and payroll, as well as business taxes such as payroll taxes, sales taxes and other business and personal taxes. These services can be made use of on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis and can be customized to best fit the client’s needs. She also provides some pickup and delivery services for owners who cannot leave their business.
