Maybe if they reinstate Pete Rose and he becomes their manager.

Feel bad for Mr. Deitrich. He put so much into baseball in Jamestown.

Who do you guys think the better hitter was ? Ted Williams or Pete Rose

I would also follow them if Ted Williams was their manager. But that isn't going to happen. Babe Ruth was the greatest hitter of all time.

6% doesn't sound like a lot but unfortunately that's about the same number of people who followed them here.

I agree, Russ has done a lot, but others like Jack Fulford never got the credit they deserved.

As for hitter, hands down Roy Hobbs was the best there ever was.

Well Pete Rose dwarfs Babe Ruth by far when it comes to hits. The Babe isn't even close to Charlie Hustle in that area, but it's hard to compare old timers like Ruth to more modern hitters like Rose.

Looks like baseball is a topic we can agree on. Pete played until he was 100. And true, back in the day some of the best pitchers were in the ***** leagues. But all you can do is compare one player to his peers. When Ruth hit 60 homers, Lou had 47, and the guy in 3rd place had 30. Half as many. In 1926 he had 26 more HR's than the guy in 2nd. In 1928 it was 23. Unheard of today. I'm a big Pete Rose fan, but slap singles won't kill you. Three run homers will.

You have got to be kidding me. N e g r o leagues was the name of a baseball league that many all-time greats played in. You can't say that but you can have a username that is hate speech? Go figure.

That's where PC will get you. Those who are still around are quite proud of the fact that they played in that league. And we can't say what league they played in.

Yesterday monkey and I agreed that the repubs won't have a chance in 2016 if they have 80 candidates run, 78 who have no chance of winning. Today we agree on the American past time. Tomorrow, I am going to find something that yankeefan and I agree on. You just watch.

From the comment below we now know there is nothing that is not Republican or Liberal, ain't that right. My God get a life, turn off FOX News, breath air, do something and get your mind on something useful. VOLUNTEER in this community there are plenty of decent organizations unless the Republican Platform includes opposing non-profit organizations for the poor too.

This ain't going to be easy blu3, but I plan on keeping my promise. I like Derek Jeter, yankee. Do you like Jeter? Are you even capable of having a conversation?

If someone ever accused me of being religious in lifetime my church would be Yankee Stadium. Jeter is a great player, one of the best. but he is no Pete Rose.

I wish we could have a Yankee Affiliate team in the area, its would makes sense since most of us are all Yankee , Mets or Cleveland fans !

I like Jeter because of the way he carries himself. But on the field, Pete has him beat. I hated the Yankees as a kid. But my sons became Yankee fans so I had to start routing for them. A father and his sons shouldn't route for different teams. It's un-American.
