NRG has been identified as one of the largest polluters in New York State. Maybe we should be asking why we have such a high incidence of heart disease, cancer, lung disease and MS. We appreciate the jobs and tax revenue that NRG brings to the table but for the sake of our health they should be doing more to protect the environment if they want to be part of the community.

The earth, as well as society, is in continual change and we all must find some common ground in deciding what we need as compared to the cost of that need, ie: cost, both financial & enviornmental vs the benefits received. Until we sit down and do this, both sides of any issue cannot and will not see eye to eye.

The reason everything is in short supply is because there are two many people in the world. Stop having so many kids!

Should you think it has no ill effects on the environment, I ask you this: What invention of man has ever had any real benefits to the environment? That piece of Saran wrap you threw away two weeks ago will be in the landfill for hundreds of years. And to think all the waste that'll be shipped to landfills when it gets torn down, with exception to th metal that may well be shipped to China for scrap.

Noticing a trend here: take a look at this article and then a good hearty look at what PETA says about circuses abusing animals, but nothing is ever said about how rodeos abuse animals (roping animals for entertainment?).

Walter Simpson appears to be a fraud and a charlatan. No problem supporting a new plant that is 5 times the size of Jamestown with unproven technology. He is silent about the NRG's Dunkirk plant that uses very old polluting technology and was recently given tax breaks. Let's kill the Jamestown plant that will capture and sequester grennhouse gases. This small public utility can't pay Mr. Simpson off the way NRG can?

It's a no-brainer. People, take a look from outside your own little bubbles and picture this; JOBS, Economic Development and Energy. This plant will in no way negatively impact the enviroment, nowhere near what Jamestown and Falconer have already done in the last 100 years. Tree huggers, GO HOME!

It appears that Mr. Simpson is giving "a pass" to NRG for what looks like a payoff. The good intentioned people of Jamestown have been duped by this guy, and they don't even realize it. The NRG project should be explored for environmental and economic reasons for WNY, but not at the expense of the Jamestown. I didn't think that this was a competition. What's the matter Mr. Simpson, not enough bribe offered from Jamestown for black mail?

The environmentalist is the reason we have $4.00 gasoline!! If we can't drill, build refineries we had better get used to it. The enviornment is the cleanest in 100 years. Years ago homes burned coal without enviormental controls.

I hope so, because it's just too expensive!
