OLEAN - The Jamestown girls soccer team (1-1) will now play for the Olean Invitational Championship after topping Ellicottville, 5-2, on Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Red Raiders recorded the first goal of the day when Alicia Rensel found the back of the net on an assist from Abbie Merchant with 14 minutes to play in the first half.
Ellicottville quickly responded with a pair of goals before halftime to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.
The Jamestown offense was up to the challenge, as Alexa Dix made it 2-2 off a pass from Katie Andalora with 16 minutes to play in the final half.
One minute later, Merchant found the back of the net on a feed by Sarah Gibson, while Kaley Capizzi tallied from Elizabeth Indriolo to make it 4-2.
The final goal of the game came from Dix on a feed by Rensel with six seconds remaining.
Hannah Abbott picked up nine saves in net for Jamestown while Tarah Schars was in goal for Ellicottville.
Jamestown will now play Olean for the championship at noon on Saturday.

MAPLE GROVE ROLLS
PANAMA-Maple Grove (1-0) had no trouble on the road against Panama/Clymer (0-2, 0-1), rolling to a 12-0 win.
Freshman Adrianne Carlson had a great day on offense, firing home three goals with a pair of assists as well.
Also scoring for the Lady Red Dragons were Chloe Kibbe, Sarah Pardue, Emma Franczak, Emily Swanson, Alison Winchester, Katie Braund, Sam Elleman, Alexis Hallberg and Mary Nickerson.
Rebekah Whitmore made 28 saves in net for Panama/Clymer.
