RANDOLPH, N.Y, - Edith Irene Stacey, 99, formerly of Pigeon Valley Road, Randolph Terrace Apartments, and currently a resident of the Randolph Manor, passed away Sunday (Aug. 31, 2014), in WCA Hospital.
Mrs. Stacey was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Red-house, N.Y., the daughter of the late Percy G. and Emma G. France Baldwin.
She attended a one room school house in Redhouse. She retired from farming, where she and her late husband, Eugene, owned and operated in Onoville and Pigeon Valley Road in the town of Napoli. She had also worked at Allegany State Park.
Edith attended the Corydon, Nazarene Church and the former Steamburg Free Church. She enjoyed her family, working on the farms and working outdoors in her gardens.
Mrs. Stacey is survived by two sons: Leonard Stacey and Jack Stacey and wife, Florence, all of Ran-dolph; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Ross of Bradford, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Eugene N. Stacey, whom she married on Dec. 12, 1932, in Allegany, and who preceded her on July 18, 1975; a son, Robert O. Stacey; a daughter, Etta June Hansen; a brother, Robert Baldwin; and sisters: Margaret Tebo and Gertrude Nelson.
The family will receive family and friends 4-7 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 4, 2014), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Rene Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
