Fire In Vacant City Building

August 28, 2014
Post-Journal

A Jamestown Police officer stopped at this house at 314 W. Eighth St. around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday night after he noticed smoke billowing out of its windows. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Lieutenant Tim Jackson said the home was apparently vacant and no injuries were reported. The Jamestown Fire Department responded to the scene. Wednesday night's fire was the second to occur in a vacant building this month, as several area departments responded to a fully engulfed structure fire at 2082 Willard St. Extension on Aug. 7. No one was injured.
