International Law Dialog Begins At Jackson Center

August 25, 2014
Post-Journal

The eighth annual International Humanitarian Law Dialog at the Robert H. Jackson Center commenced Sunday with a brick-laying ceremony featuring several current and former chief prosecutors of the world's courts and tribunals. As part of the annual three-day event, the center lays a brick inscribed with the name of a prosecutor in the walkway leading up to the building's Fourth Street entrance. The ceremony's featured guest was Nicholas Koumjian, chief prosecutor of the Extraordinary Chamber of the Courts of Cambodia. Koumjian was joined by several other chief prosecutors represented by bricks which had been placed in previous years. Pictured, from left, are: Brenda Hollis, of the Special Court for Sierra Leone; James Stewart, of the International Criminal Court; Hassan Jallow, of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda; Stephen Rapp, of the Special Court for Sierra Leone; Koumjian; Fatou Bensouda, of the International Criminal Court; David Crane, of the Special Court for Sierra Leone; Desmond de Silva, of the Special Court for Sierra Leone; and Andrew Cayley, of the Extraordinary Care Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.
