Prendergast Library is taking signups for free classes about eating better for less money.
Classes will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays starting today through Oct. 6 by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County.
During the six-week series, participants will learn how to stretch their food dollars, plan and prepare easy meals, and make healthy choices for themselves and their families.
"Eat Smart New York classes are fun, interactive, and support behavior changes that will lead people to adopt better nutritional and lifestyle practices," said Patricia Hammond, Family & Consumer Science issue leader.
The library is located at 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. To register, stop in or call 484-7135.
Information is also available from Tanya Eggleston or JoAnn Perez, nutrition educators, at 664-9502, ext. 217.
