BUSTI- The Busti Hamlet Development Association will hold its seventh annual chicken barbecue dinner on Saturday.
Started in 2008, the Busti Hamlet Development Association formed with one goal in mind - to make the community a more business-oriented, family-friendly place.
"Almost all of the commercial property in the hamlet here was for sale," said Jesse Robbins, Busti supervisor. "There wasn't any business other than (my business). The store was closed. The restaurant was closed. The veterinarian's office was closed."
The Busti Hamlet Development Association helped with the creation of various projects in Busti including the gazebo for the firemen in the park, a veterans' monument, benches on the nature trail and donations to the Busti monument among other various projects.
The chicken barbecue helps the Busti Hamlet Development Association fund their endeavors. Up to 400 dinners will be sold at the park just past the Busti Grist Mill from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday. Pre-ordered meals will be assured, while dinners bought at the door will have a finite supply. Tickets for pre-sale and at the door is $10 and to buy pre-sale tickets, call Robbins at 664-2060.
