Gretchen E. Cassell, 80, of Warren, Pa., died on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Golden Living-Kinzua Valley, surrounded by her family.
Gretchen was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late John Henry and Kathryn Park (Bauer) Klenck.
Gretchen was a lifelong resident of Warren. She was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Warren, Pa. She was an avid reader and owned over 1,000 books and read them all. She loved animals, especially her pets: her cat, Mickey, and her dog, Kody.She is survived by three daughters: Jerri Brown, of Jamestown, N.Y., Kathy Cassell, also of Jamestown, and Sue Streit of Warren, Pa.; a son, Dwayne Cassell, of Warren, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gretchen was preceded in death on Dec. 5, 2004, by her husband, Perry E. Cassell Jr.; and four sisters: Jean, Tot, Joyce and Lucille.
A memorial service will be held at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Pennsylvania Ave., E., Warren, Pa., on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be private in Oakland Cemetery, at a later date.
