August 6, 2014
Post-Journal

Investigator Jarrett Reed, K-9 Officer Casey Casselman and K-9 Miro of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, all pictured, held an instructional tour of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department with the Lakewood-Busti Recreational Center summer recreational program. The tour consisted of displays set up to explain what officers' daily duties are and the training that officers go through. The tour had displays such as range targets, road checks, defensive tactics, forensic fingerprinting and a demonstration from K-9 Miro, K-9 Mitchell from the Jamestown Police Department and K-9 Drago from Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office. Officers spoke with the group in regard to "stranger danger" and " bike safety." The tour is a proactive effort to teach youth that police officers are available, approachable and ready to help in times of need.
