Shirley J. (Quaintance) Cameron, 90, of Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of 470 Ivory Road, Frewsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
She was born July 7, 1924, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Lynn and Edythe Howard Quain-tance.
Shirley graduated from Frewsburg High School in 1941 and from Jamestown Business College in 1942.
She worked as a book-keeper at Falconer Milling Co., Falconer and at Warren-Hudson Inc. in Warren, Pa.
Shirley was a former member of Trinity Chapel, Frewsburg, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She later became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frewsburg.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on Chautauqua Lake.
Shirley is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Jack) Evan of Jamestown and Linda Perry of Frewsburg; four grandchildren: Nicole (Erik) Kane and Sarah (Jeff) Uebelhoer of Jamestown, Cameron "C.J." Perry of North Tonawanda, and Kyle "Christian" Perry of Frewsburg; and her former son-in-law, Tom Ferri.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, the Rev. Howard F. Cameron, whom she married Aug. 29, 1942, and who died Feb. 17, 2008.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 5, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Frewsburg. The Rev. Cameron Lienhart, pastor, and the Rev. Alan Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday in the Peter-son Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
