Carol R. Wilson, 73 of Findley Lake, N.Y., passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard H. and Marjorie Whelsky Giblin.
Carol graduated from Lakewood High School, Lakewood, Ohio, in 1959. She got married the same year in Clymer, N.Y. Carol worked in retail in Ohio, before moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1977. She then worked as a bookkeeper at a landscaping and nursery business. After retiring in the mid-1990s, she and her husband moved backed to Findley Lake, N.Y., her husband's childhood home. She had worked as assistant town clerk for the town of Mina, then worked at the Alexander Findley Community Library as an assistant librarian, until she decided to retire to enjoy spending time with her friends and family. She loved nature and her house in the woods, her dogs, her music and her family.

She is survived by four daughters: Susan (Ronald) McKamy, of St. Paris, Ohio, Karin Jackson, Bemus Point, N.Y., Judi Wilson Jackson, Vineland, N.J., and Stephanie Wilson of Corry, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and their families; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Weinstein, of Tucson, Ariz.; and twin brothers: Richard and William Giblin of the Lancaster, Pa. area.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Wilson, on Dec. 24, 2003.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Spitzer Funeral Home, 135 Miller St., Sherman, N.Y. Friend will be received for one hour prior to the service.
