SYRACUSE - The New York State Sportswriters Association announced its all-state selections for high school baseball on Thursday, and headlining the list are Fredonia's Weston Ley and Pine Valley's Winfred Nelson.
Weston Ley pitched and batted Fredonia to a 20-4 record to earn a berth on the New York State Sportswriters Association Class B first team.

Ley, a senior, completed his final season by being named to the NYSSWA's Class B first team. Ley was an All-Western New York first-team selection and the Division 1 West Player of the Year after have an exceptional season as a pitcher and second baseman.
Ley sported a .661 average, collecting 39 hits and 23 RBIs while Fredonia ended the year at 20-4.
Nelson, also a senior, dominated on the mound and at the plate for the Panthers, earning an All-WNY honorable-mention berth.
Cameron Voss, a Fredonia junior, was named to the second team in Class B after being named to the All-WNY second team and selected as the Division 1 West Pitcher of the Year.
Senior pitcher Luke Hennessey of Olean was named to the fifth team to round out the Southern Tier selections in Class B.
Nolan Hunt of Westfield was chosen for the NYSSWA's second team in Class C after helping the Wolverines to a Division 2 West title. He was also named the division's MVP and All-WNY honorable mention.

Frewsburg senior Tage Johnson was a third-team selection in Class C after batting .436 on the year with 33 hits. He was also named to the Division 2 West first team and was chosen honorable mention All-WNY.
Senior Nick Iskra of Silver Creek, a second-team All-WNY selection, was named to the NYSSWA fourth team in Class C after batting .478 on the season and earning a berth on the Division 2 West first team.
Collin Stack of Maple Grove was selected to the state Class C fifth team after being named to the Division 1 West first team and batting .410. Maple Grove teammate Matt Roach rounds out the Class C selections with an appointment to the seventh team. Roach had a solid year in relief as a sophomore, going 1-2 with a 2.33 ERA, and earning a spot on the Division 1 West first team.
In addition to Nelson, four other players round out the NYSSWA selections in Class D.
Tom Raiport, also of Pine Valley, earned a spot on the second team and was also an All-Western New York honorable mention choice.
Senior Ryan Robson of Sherman was named to the Class D third team after earning a berth on the Division 2 West first team. On the hill, he struck out 60 and sported a 2.75 earned run average.
Ryan Johnson of Brocton, also a Division 2 West first-team selection, was selected to the Class D all-state third team. Johnson batted .495 on the year. Jacob Wiggers of Clymer, another senior, was selected to the all-state Class D fourth team.
