FREDONIA - Woodbury Vineyards will hold a grand reopening gala from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in its Wine Lounge and Art Gallery, 3215 South Roberts Road, Fredonia.
Over the last few years, the winery has expanded and remodeled its tasting room, opened an art gallery and wine lounge and added winemaker Phil Hazlitt to its staff. Under the direction of Hazlitt, who is a sixth-generation grape grower from the Finger Lakes with more than 30 years of winemaking experience, Woodbury has been awarded more than 50 medals.
"We have developed customer loyalty by producing excellent tasting and enjoyable wines as well as offering a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for each and every one of our customers. We seek to satisfy the tastes of a wide range of consumers while providing a truly unique and fulfilling experience," said Maria Pizzino, Woodbury Vineyards general manager.
Most recently, Woodbury's Seaport Blush was awarded the Best Blush in the 2014 New York State Fair wine competition, which took place a few weeks ago.
"We are happy that others recognize the quality of the wine we produce," Pizzino said. "World class wine, some of the very best in the country, are from right here in Western New York, and we are proud to be a contributor."
The winery boasts an open-format wine bar and tasting room with a boutique gift shop. Planned improvements include reopening its pavilion for events later this year.
"If you have not visited Woodbury lately, we hope you will come to experience what we now have to offer," Pizzino said. "It's time to celebrate our improvements and accomplishments with all those that have made this possible. This includes our loyal customers, our 1,100 shareholders, and many others throughout the community who have provided their unending support."
Established in 1979, Woodbury has been producing award-winning wines for 35 years and operates year-round in Fredonia. For more information, call Pizzino at 866-671-9463 or email Maria@WoodburyWinery.com.
