Vikings Hit The Highway

Volunteers Help Clean 8 Miles Along Route 430

July 17, 2014
Post-Journal

The Viking Trailer Association has taken on the long-standing tradition of participating in the Adopt-A-Highway Program. The area that they have taken the responsibility to keep clean extends along Route 430 from the expressway to Thumb Road just before Dewittville. This distance of 4 miles is doubled to 8 miles since they clean both sides of the road, and this is done two or three times each year. In June, 12 dedicated Viking volunteers wearing yellow hard hats and bright orange vests began the clean-up process. Viking Chief Mindy Worden stated that she is very proud that the Vikings have continued this long-standing commitment of being good citizens by doing their part in keeping Chautauqua beautiful. The Trailer Association volunteers who gave their time and talent are to be thanked for their participation. Kneeling, from left: Debbie Rohland and Linda Butryn.
