Area residents who may be experiencing "wrestlemania" will have an appropriate outlet for their condition by visiting the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena this week.
The arena will host the stars of Total Nonstop Action Impact Wrestling - as seen on Spike TV - as just one of its many stops over the course of its 2014 world tour.
The event is slated for Friday at 7:30 p.m., in which several champions and rising stars in the wrestling realm will include recognizable names such as: Lashley, TNA world heavyweight champion; Bully Ray; EC3; Mr. Anderson; Gunner; Gail Kim; Angelina Love; Velvet Sky; Eddie Edwards; Davey Richards; Jessie Godderz; Eric Young; and Samoa Joe.
According to Mr. Anderson, who has made a name for himself through his boisterous behavior and technical wrestling skills, those wishing to attend Friday's event in hopes of experiencing the nonstop action suggested in the wrestling troupe's name will not leave disappointed.
"With TNA house shows, as we call them, fans get a highly kinetic, fan-friendly, family-fun entertainment," Anderson said. "You get action, drama and excitement. Everybody in the audience likes different things - whether it's hard-hitting, smashmouth wrestling or technical wrestling or the high-climb stuff - and we have all of those things under one umbrella. So people can expect a jam-packed show with lots of entertainment and lots of colorful characters."
New to this year's tour is the fan-oriented "Fist-Pumpin' Pre-Show Party," which will allow fans the opportunity to interact with their wrestling heroes. The party will take place at 6:30 p.m., one hour before bell time, and fans are invited to participate in meet-and-greet sessions, as well as take photos with and receive autographs from the wrestlers.
Anderson said the pre-show party is just one example of TNA's commitment to its fans.
"One of the things that TNA Wrestling strives to achieve is that connection with our fanbase," he said. "We have the pre-show party, where people can come an hour early and interact with myself and the other wrestlers. And to those who don't watch wrestling, I would encourage them to throw caution to the wind and attend the live event. I think they'll be blown away and have a really good time.
"Even if you're not blown away by the action in the ring, you'll definitely be entertained by the fans; because they're as much a part of the show as we are."
Tickets for the TNA Impact Wrestling World Tour event at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena start at $15.
