A Helping Hand

St. Mark Lutheran Church Donates To Habitat For Humanity

July 3, 2014
Post-Journal

Mayville's St. Mark Lutheran Church recently held a public sale and luncheon for the public, which brought in $400. That was given to the village's Habitat for Humanity house-building project at 7 Patterson St. in Mayville. Presenting the $400 check is Pam Warner, Vision Committee church member; to Mike Ricketts, Mid-Chautauqua County Habitat director. Each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers can be seen putting together a brand new house for a family - mom, dad and four young girls - who have been selected by a Habitat special committee. Also, each Saturday, volunteers are needed to help make sure the future home will be ready to move in to before the snow flies. "Habitat is a worthy recipient in our community," Warner said on behalf of St. Mark Lutheran. Anyone who would like to pitch in and help need only show up.
