WESTFIELD - Planning continues for the 42nd annual YWCA Westfield Arts and Crafts Festival.
This year's event is set for July 25-26, in Moore Park. The festival takes place rain or shine with vendors available each day at 9 a.m.
"In addition to many of the returning favorites, we're excited to showcase some new vendors this year," said Katie Smith, YWCA executive director. "We look forward to getting the applications from all the vendors, seeing the list of other shows they do and previewing the photos of the art work and crafts they are bringing to Westfield. I hesitate to showcase any one particular since they are all appealing and worthy of note.

"From the initial shows in the early 1970s that had several dozen vendors, to the current shows that feature close to 200 vendors, one thing has remained constant - the community volunteers that help make this a success," Smith continued. "This is the largest fundraiser the YWCA undertakes and we couldn't do it without help from our community. We rely on volunteers to help with everything from registration, to parking, to cleanup - I continue to be impressed by the spirit of helpfulness and neighborliness the community shows. This year is no different, we continue to recruit and accept volunteers for that weekend."
Individuals interested in volunteering for the upcoming YWCA Arts and Crafts Festival are encouraged to contact the YWCA at 326-2011, visit the main office at 58 S. Portage St. or email the director at email@example.com.
"There are opportunities for everyone, if you're willing to help out we can find the place to put your time and talent to work," Smith said.
